Information about the prototype
In May 2021, the 1293 200 became the first Vectron locomotive of ÖBB to be covered with the Nightjet design. In this way, it is advertising the new Nightjet trains, which are to be in service from the end of 2022. The locomotive is equipped with the DE-AT-PL-NL-BE-CZ-SK-HU-RO-BG-HR-RS country package.
Since the end of 2016, ÖBB has been one of the few large transport companies to operate a dense and attractive night train service with popular destinations such as Brussels, Hamburg, Venice and Warsaw. ÖBB has ordered a total of 13 seven-car train sets from Siemens Mobility to further expand this service in Europe and offer even more comfort for sustainable travel. In a first step, they will be used on the connections from Austria and Germany to Italy.
Information about the model
Under item numbers #71975, #71976, and #79976, the Austrian Federal Railways electric locomotive with road number 1293 200 will be released in spring 2022 by model railroad manufacturer Roco as a licensed ÖBB model.
The striking "Nightjet" design is striking, which makes this locomotive unmistakable on the layout. Here it can be used authentically in night train service.
True to the prototype, the model is a multi-system version with Netherlands package.
Free-standing handle bars, which are partly made of metal, and the filigree roof structure also make the model a visual highlight.
In the analog version, the headlights and the tail lights can be switched thanks to an integrated DIP switch. In digital operation, the main beam, cab lighting, and the head and tail lights can be switched digitally separately.
